About Color & Pedigree

Our trio is currently being bred to primarily focus on the original colors of American/ English Cocker Spaniels back in the 1940’s. Roan, Merle, Parti, Harlequin, Calico or combination thereof, this colour focus will be a unique feature and breeding quality into the Golden Retriever lineages from the current standard colourings.

We have our trio from the Dakota Sport Retriever Parti Coloured & Hunting Line.

Beaus Heritage is Black, Black Gold, Black Tan, Sable, Blues, Parti & Roan. .His pups can be roans, tri-colours, patches, spots and solid colors which are to be determined based on genetics.

With the O’hara- Butler Heritage we should get all the light colour shades; Cream, gold, red, blacks, and chocolates. ALL with spots, patches, and ANY could have the roan and/or merle pattern also! As Scarlett carries roan, then we could get puppies that are both merle & roan patterns which will be very cool indeed. This line will bring back the Calico and Harlequin colourings as well.

Magnus Heritage is Black, Chocolate Merle, Black n White Merle, Black n white roan This is our English Cocker line that will predominately be our Black Gold Mini Sport Retriever Line.

Pedigree:

All of our dogs great grandparents were originally pedigree registered purebred American/ English Cocker Spaniels or Golden Retrievers through the American Kennel Association. As it takes a process of over 20 years to become a recognized breed at the American Kennel Association level; Karen the originating breeder of Dakota Sport Retrievers and me here in Canada are working through this process to have our dogs registered through the American Rare Breed Association along with 2 other association levels. We are commencing our process here in Canada through various Associations and registries. As each registry accepts our dogs we will post the pedigree registration each dog is part of and each registry that all our litters are registered to.

Currently our dogs hold the following pedigree registrations each microchip is also registered through these organizations:

1. Certified Pet Registration CPR designation based in USA.
2. Coming soon CANid through Canadian Livestock Records Corporation
3. Coming soon Canine Federation of Canada registered

Memberships:

Dakota Sport Retrievers out of South Dakota hold a current membership through the American Kennel Association. Gone with the Wind Kennels is investigation membership for the Canadian Kennel Club & Association. It is a process that we have to be due diligent on with all T’s crossed and I’s dotted to not impact us in the process of becoming a recognized breed. As we become members to associations & registries we will post accordingly.
